Let it snow... Let it snow... Let it snow...

So... I have all of these cool mason jars that used to belong to my Grandmother... I've been incorporating them into my decor for awhile now, and was racking my brain with how to use them at Christmas...  Then it came to me... I could turn them into snow globes!  I was soooo excited with "MY" idea... thinking it was so original... then I got the Anthropologie catalog.  They came up with the idea too! (OK... so my bubble was burst just a little... they are a constant source of inspiration... but, come on... get out of my head!)  Well, anyway, I'm still claiming the idea... Here's how I did it...
Gathered up my jars... you could also use recycled jars and just remove the labels...
The most important thing... snow!  I liked the look of Targets the best... and they had the best price $1.99...

Being my usual thrifty self... I rummaged through what I had, and came up with a few vintage things
... although I have to admit I was envisioning some sparkly reindeer, but could not find any... not even ones I could glitter myself... so if I do see any I'll be snatching them up for next year...

Using a funnel... I sprinkled  snow inside of the jars... If you don't have a funnel, no worries...
just roll up a piece of paper at an angle, and it work just as well...
Then add your goodies onto the snow..
Another way to arrange your snow globe is up side down.  All it requires is sticking your item to the lid... I'm used these mounting tabs for the job... and affixed one to the lid...
... Press your item in place... screw the lid on... and turn upside down... sooo fun!

Here are some more that I did... I Love the Santa...

I put a small vintage Christmas book in this one...

Love these gaudy bead and sequin trees... and the jingle bells...

I'm going to display them on the dinning room table...

I also added some candles...
This was a fun and easy project... I think it would be kid friendly too!  Just because it's not snowing outside... doesn't mean it can't snow inside... So... let it snow... let it snow... let it snow...

P.S.  I promise I won't be offended if you just go and buy them at Anthropologie... they are $25-$38 depending on size... and pretty cute!
