I am addicted to knitting... My posts don't show it, but if I'm not sewing... I'm knitting! I find it so soothing, and it is one of the only ways I can turn my brain off. I do however have a bad habit of not completing projects... and making things in the wrong size... For example, this first sweater has literally been sitting in my studio since March... I had it completely done except for weaving in all of the loose ends (yawn)... The sickening part... when I finally got around to it, it only took me 20 minutes (hand slapping forehead)... Seriously!

I'm using the word "pattern" loosely... because I was envisioning a looser knit with a finer yarn. I changed it to a double ruffle at the neck line. Made it with three quarter sleeves and added a double ruffle. I also lengthened it
and added a ruffle to the bottom... |

| And did I have a clue how to do that? Nah... I just winged it... Amazingly my impatience toward knitting has taught me to be fearless... There are no permanent mistakes, because it can all be unraveled... So after a few false starts trying to get my gauge right... I was able to create my version of this sweater... It turned out so pretty... |

| I pick this yarn up from a local wool shop... They have dying and spinning classes, and twice a year they sell they're castoffs and irregulars for dirt cheap... I picked up two skeins of this linen/silk yarn for only $1.00 each... |

| Instead of being dotted through out, I'm sure there was suppose to be a smoother transition between the brown and the blue,... but I like it... I think it adds character. |
Now I have some Summer knits to add to
my favorites. Hopefully I can continue to knit more Post worthy pieces... As I am learning to have more patience with knitting... I've found that taking the time to knit a gauge square first really does make a difference!
