Adding Some New Summer Favorites To My Wordrobe...

***UPDATE*** I posted pictures of me wearing these items at the end of this post...

Every year as I pack for our annual trip to California...  I feel this need to make myself new summer clothes...  This year as things were coming together, I began to notice a definite theme...  Nautical...
It all started with these shorts...  and this vintage sailboat and anchor fabric...
I used this pattern... Super cute fit...
This vintage bamboo fabric told me it needed to be a top...
I cut it from this dress pattern (previously seen here)... Just shortened it to a hip length...
Nothing says Summer like a shirt dress... The buttons are from a recent find, and add the perfect touch...
The pattern... not so exciting... To keep it more current I shortened the hem by 2inches...
To make this top a little more exciting, I added a rope belt...
I used the top version... but made it sleeveless...
With that done... I've now got to finish packing... Can't wait to wear my new pieces... I'm sure they are going to be new summer favorites...
Happy Sewing!
